The International Conference on Fuzzy and Neural Computing (FANCCO-2015) began on December 17, 2015 at IDRBT, Hyderabad. The FANCCO-2015 held annually, is the Fifth International Conference of this series, which provides a forum for disseminating the latest research results in Fuzzy Computing and Neural Networks.
The three-day conference reviews the latest cutting edge research made in the areas of Fuzzy Computing, Neuro Computing and hybrid Neuro-Fuzzy Computing. The conference aims to explore new application areas and to design novel hybrid algorithms for solving different real world application problems and to create awareness in these domains to a wider audience including researchers, academicians and practitioners.
Fuzzy and Neuro Computing, a part of machine learning, provides solutions to complex, uncertain and imprecise problems using data-driven learning methodologies such as fuzzy logic, neural networks, etc. The concept of Fuzzy Neuro Computing gained prominence since in a world consisting of complex datasets, it was imperative to develop efficient systems using various computing techniques that provides solutions and enables right decision-making. This international conference provides an opportunity for the academia and the industry to present and discuss problems related to fuzzy and neural computing and come up with innovative ideas and solutions in this area.
In his welcome address,Dr. A. S. Ramasastri, Director, IDRBT, focused attention on the Institute's significant contribution to the Indian Banking and Financial Sector in the niche area of Banking Technology. He highlighted the research work being carried out in the important areas at the Institute's Research Centres viz., Centre of Excellence in Analytics, Centre for Mobile Banking, Centre for Cyber Security, Centre for Open Source Systems and Centre for Virtualization and Cloud Computing.
The Director also announced the launch of Institute's new Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Technology (PGDBT), commencing from July 2016. This Post Graduate Diploma in Banking Technology is a unique programme designed to provide the Indian Banking and Financial Sector, on a regular basis, a pool of talented professionals with technology expertise to strongly support their technology deployment initiatives. The PGDBT is a full-time regular one year programme that will provide essential learning inputs on technology implementation, integration and management to meet the changing technology requirements of the Banking Sector. The programme focuses on present technologies as well as emerging technologies that can contribute to the growth of banks. The PGDBT aims to produce techno-savvy professionals, who would use the latest and best technologies, to fuel growth and make the Indian Banking and Financial Sector techno-efficient.
The Conference was flagged off on December 17, 2015 by Prof. Tadihiko Murata, Kansai University, Japan; Prof. Dipankar Dasgupta, University of Memphis, USA; Dr. Raghuram Krishnapuram, Xerox Innovation Group, India; and Prof. B. K. Panigrahi, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
