Delegation from University of Victoria, Canada Visits IDRBT

On April 15th 2014, a delegation of 19 students from the University of Victoria, Canada, visited IDRBT as a part of their study to identify business points in emerging markets like India. The delegation led by Dr. Wade Danis, Associate Professor, International Business, included students with specialization in multiple areas like International Business, Retail Management, Strategy, Business Management, IT, Languages, Architecture, Finance, etc.

Shri Patrick Kishore, Chief Operating Officer, IDRBT welcomed the delegation with a snapshot of the genesis of the IDRBT and its contribution to the Indian Banking and Financial Sector. Dr. V. N. Sastry, Professor, IDRBT, presented the various academic and research initiatives of the Institute. He also explained about the importance of Mobile Banking and the future of banking through mobile phones.

The delegation interacted with the Research Scholars, Research Associates and M. Tech. students and focused on understanding the feasibility of various online payment models like Mobile Wallets, Digital Currency, etc., and also visited the Mobile Banking Security Lab to get a direct view of the working process of mobile payment modes.
