The Fifth International Conference on Fuzzy and Neural Computing (FANCCO) - 2015 was organized at IDRBT. Renowned academicians, international researchers, industry experts, students from across the globe took part in the conference. The 3-day conference was preceded by a one-day tutorial on December 16, 2015 on topics pertaining to Fuzzy Neural Computing. December 17-19, 2015
IDRBT signed MoU with NIT Warangal December 16, 2015
The Fifth IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium was held at IDRBT. Prof. P. J. Narayanan, Director, International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad inaugurated the Colloquium. In his inaugural address, he focused attention on "Research in the Digital Era". Eighteen research scholars from various reputed institutions like IISc., ISI, IITs, IIMs, IIITs, NITs participated in the Colloquium. The Colloquium included keynote talk by Prof. Biplav Srivasatava, Senior Researcher, IBM on "Open Data for Financial Innovations in the Developing World". December 10-11, 2015

The 5th Bank Executive Programme for Senior Executives of Banks was held at IIBF, Mumbai.

The faculty of IIBF, NIBM and IDRBT held sessions on issues pertaining to the Banking Sector, HR and Talent Management, Credit Risk Management, Operational Risk, Investment Policy, Funds and Investment, Mobile Banking, Emerging Technologies, Standards and Best Practices, IT Business Alignment, Information Security, Payment and Settlement Systems, etc. A panel discussion was moderated by Executive Directors of Banks.

The Eleventh IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards was held at IDRBT. Dr. Raghuram G. Rajan, Governor, Reserve Bank of India & Visitor, IDRBT was the chief guest on this occasion. The Governor addressed the bankers and gave away awards to the best banks.

On this occasion, the Governor inaugurated the Centre for Open Source Systems; released a book on Banking Technology in India - Current Status and Future Trends; and launched the Indian Banks' CIO Forum.

Shri H. R. Khan, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India & Chairman, IDRBT delivered the Opening Remarks and released a handbook on IT Vendor Management - Principles and Practices.

At the event, the IDRBT and the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to facilitate research collaboration.

Top management of RBI, CMDs of banks, GC members of IDRBT, CIOs and other dignitaries attended the event.

The Fifth Conference of CIOs (IT Heads) of Banks was held at IDRBT. Twenty nine IT chiefs of various banks participated in the 2-day event.

Eminent experts in the areas of banking, IT and cyber security explained the new emerging trends and challenges in Banking Technology. The participants also visited the Institute's labs wherein the faculty of IDRBT gave an overview of the current research activities undertaken and their benefits to the Banking & Financial Sector.

The Institute conducted the Fourth IDRBT Doctoral Colloquium. The Colloquium was inaugurated by Prof. San Murugesan, University of Western Sydney, Australia. The Colloquium also included talks on emerging issues of technology research by eminent faculty like Prof. B. Shekar, IIM Bangalore and Prof. C. V. Jawahar, IIIT Hyderabad. On October 17, 2014, Prof. Njuguna Ndung'u, Governor, Central Bank of Kenya visited IDRBT. He was accompanied by Prof. Lydia Ndirangu, Assistant Director, Kenya School of Monetary Studies (KSMS) Research Centre. The key agenda was to discuss and explore the possibilities of collaboration between IDRBT and KSMS to set up a Mobile Banking Lab in KSMS. October 17, 2014
The Tenth Edition of the IDRBT Banking Technology Excellence Awards was held at the Institute. Dr. Raghuram G. Gandhi, Deputy Governor, Reserve Bank of India and Chairman, IDRBT released a report on Technology in Banking.

The event was preceded by an Executive Directors' Panel and a CEO Panel which saw participation of various Executive Directors, CMDs and other senior banking experts.

The top management of the Indian Banking and Financial Sector including Directors of the RBI Board, Deputy Governors, Executive Directors of RBI; CMDs, MDs, IT Chiefs of public and private sector banks also came together for the event.

IDRBT organized the Third International Programme on Information Assurance and Management for Banks & Financial Institutions in collaboration with SUNY, Buffalo, USA. The first part of the programme was held at IDRBT from September 04-06, 2014 and the concluding part was held at SUNY, Buffalo, USA from September 08-13, 2014. The participants included bankers from both the public sector and private sector banks. The programme was co-ordinated by Dr. B. M. Mehtre, Associate Professor, IDRBT and Dr. Venu Govindaraju, Director, Center for Unified Biometrics and Sensors (CUBS)and Distinguished Fellow, IDRBT. September 04-13, 2014

The 3rd Bank Executive Programme was held at IDRBT. The programme which was jointly organized by IDRBT, NIBM and IIBF, offered an insightful overview of the trends in the Banking Technology, the HR Challenges, IT Governance, Information Security and covered other banking areas such as Risk Management, Asset-Liability Management, etc. Around 22 senior management executives of various banks participated in the week-long programme. A delegation of 19 students from the University of Victoria, Canada, visited IDRBT as a part of their study programme on identifying business potential in emerging markets like India and the viability of Digital Wallets and its feasibility in India.

Shri Patrick Kishore, Chief Operating Officer, IDRBT welcomed the delegation with an introduction about the Institute and the technology services offered by IDRBT. Dr. V. N. Sastry, Professor, IDRBT presented the various academic and research initiatives of the Institute.

The delegation interacted with Team IDRBT on Information Security, Mobile Banking, Financial Inclusion, and also visited the Mobile Banking Security Lab of the Institute.

The Conference of CIOs/GM (ITs) of Banks was held at IDRBT. Shri G. Padmanabhan, Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India delivered the keynote address on "Efficient Systems and Proficient Banks". Later, Shri Padmanabhan and Dr. Gulshan Rai, Director General, CERT-IN launched the new "Information Security Incident Tracker". CIOs and GM (ITs) of both the public and private sector banks participated in the 2-day event and discussed about various issues concerning the Indian Banking and Financial Sector. March 10-11, 2014
